The final spots were figured out last night. Sadly Buffalo was kicked out. I was rooting for them as they were better than the Capitals. Oh well.

Here are my picks for the first round. Now I know this weekend a few in the west might change, if so I’ll update my picks if they do.

MLS New York Red Bulls Update

I’ve slacked so far on posting about the last two home games, so here is a little recap.

The Red Bulls defeated the Colorado Rapids on 3-25-12 for the home opener by the score of 4-1.

The Red Bulls defeated the new team, Montreal Impact, on 3-31-12 by the score of 5-2.

So the Red Bulls recorded 9 goals in 2 games, which is crazy for soccer. Most games end in 1-0.

NY Rangers vs. Detroit Red Wings

Jess and I went down to MSG to see the Red Wings play the Rangers in an original six match-up. Oddly both our favorite second team is the Red Wings, so naturally we were really excited to go.

Not gonna lie, was more rooting for the Red Wings just because I have always wanted to see them play. I cheered when the Rangers scored though and wore my Rangers jersey, I just held in some excitement each time Detroit came close to scoring.

Rangers pulled some lucky rabbit out of their ass and won in overtime 2-1. Ryan Callahan scored the game winning goal which is pretty damn cool since it was his birthday. Pretty great gift to himself I guess, right?
