NY Rangers vs Winnipeg Jets

Tuesday Jess and I headed down to the city for the Rangers versus Jets game at MSG. Just a little something we did for her birthday Monday.

I broke in my new Jagr Rangers jersey that I promised I would wear as long as they weren’t playing Pittsburgh. As we figured the Rangers beat Winnipeg 3-0. Shockingly Winnipeg isn’t that bad this season for the fact that they threw themselves together and pretty much got rid of anything to do with the Thrashers at the start of the season.

NY Rangers vs. Pittsburgh Penguins

The day finally came! Sadly it’s over already.

Tuesday Jess and I went down to the city to see the NY Rangers (her team) face the Pittsburgh Penguins (my team). Besides having to walk around in the rain, the night went very well. Smooth train ride down with a few beers, few more beers at a bar across from MSG, and then a few more beers while watching an awesome game.

Unfortunately somehow the Penguins lost. Don’t get it, makes no sense. Penguins lost 4-3.

Never had so much fun at a hockey game before. Helps when the other person is into it as much as you (if not more).

NY Red Bulls Season Is Over

Well the Red Bulls lost 2-1 last night against LA. Could have sworn the game was Friday but oh well. LA advances on a 3-1 aggregate. Good job I guess Red Bulls, you made it to the same spot as last year.

LA now faces RSL for the West. Houston faces Kansas City for the East.

I’m rooting for Sporting Kansas City to win it, tired of those two big names in the West.

NY Red Bulls vs. LA Galaxy: Playoff Game 1

Sunday was the first game of a two game set against LA. I knew that it would be a lot tougher this time to beat them since their two key players were back and that we didn’t have Solli on defense. I will say that the Red Bulls played pretty well, just LA is a much stronger, more organized team. There is a reason they are on top every year.

Oh, almost forgot to mention that David Beckham is such a baby! Overpaid cry baby that got his way every time. I swear LA had the refs in their pocket too. Ask anyone that saw it and they will tell you.

On to game two in LA on Friday. Wish I had money to go.

NY Red Bulls vs. Philadelphia Union

We did it! We beat Philly 1-0 and secured out spot in the playoffs!

Despite the horrible seating situation where I had to stand for 15 fucking minutes before they moved people out of my seat because the stadium decided to cater to the opposing team and fuck over its own fans, it was a great game.

First home playoff game might be next weekend.

NY Red Bulls vs. LA Galaxy

Holy crap we won! 2-0 baby! After the way RBNY has been playing I didn’t think we would beat the best team in the league, let alone a shutout! Way to go Red Bulls! Kicking it up a notch when needed to ensure we get to the playoffs. We’re in the 9th spot now and only 2 points away from being out of the wild card and into a guaranteed playoff spot. Nice.

NY Red Bulls vs. Real Salt Lake

Well just as I predicted we lost. It was a horrible 3-0 after only 20 minutes!! Figured we would at least have had a chance to tie but nope, just got crushed.

So now we are out of the playoffs as Portland tied their game giving them a point above us. Saturday we face Portland at home so that is a vital game to win, and hopefully they can do it.
